Something new
I've been sitting here now for the last 20 minutes now, thinking about how to start this. Write a sentence, delete. Write a sentence, delete. To be honest, my literacy skills aren't that great, and I'm certainly not at the top of the class for essay writing, but I reckon that to be inspirational, and spread the absolute awesomeness of Jesus, you don't need perfect grammar. Especially now that we have ways just like this, to create a blog from nothingness within an hour.
So far, my spiritual journey has been as flat as pancake. I was born basically in a church, both of my parents were full-time pastors and had gone to church their whole lives, my grandparents are pastors too. That's just how it was. When I was 6 my parents got divorced, they both remarried, we moved house numerous time, moved schools and went to church every Sunday. That's pretty much it. Bland.
I go to youth on Friday nights, and i try to go to as many of those multi-youth-group events and seminars, every time with the preacher explaining they're magical, dramatic moment of when they're lives basically did a U-turn. But it's never been me. And I'm just being honest when I say that it's disappointing. "Everyone's story is different". Ok.
But something that does excite me, is that I know that God has made me different for a reason. I'm certainly not the prettiest of my friends, and I'm not as rich as most of them either. But I know that I'm richer one the inside then the wealthiest man in the world, because god has put a spirit in me, that will last longer than money.
It's really hard to be content, when all I see on social media is grand houses, beautiful models, products I "need to buy!", and people living the dream at concerts and festivals. But I think that we, especially me, need to look at what we do already have and what God gives us, in terms of intangible things, because only that can truly satisfy us.
Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33
